FIBRE FEST 2025
May

10:00 AM10:00

FIBRE FEST 2025

Join us for the 4th Annual
Fibre Festival @ TACC!

Saturday 31st of May 2025, 10am to 4pm

Come and join us for a day of fun fibre!

♥ Enjoy the Fibre Fest Exhibition
♥ Watch the fibre demonstrations & have a go at fibre art & craft
♥ Learn how fleece becomes fibre and explore different fibre types
♥ Shop hand-made fibre products & gifts from a variety of stalls.
♥ Have a go at the Community Art Project.

Entry with donation at the door.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Fibre Exhibition!

The organisers are changing things up this year! We won’t have a competition, however we’re still keen for our local makers to have the opportunity to show off their fabulous creations! Have you created something that fits the theme of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle? If so, we’d love to put it on display during Fibre Fest 2025!

For example, have you used left over bits of material to create a rag-rug? Or maybe you have used an old pair of jeans to create a handy tote bag? Or have you used a bunch of scrap materials to create a unique jumper? (Just like Sally from Society Knits who used scrap yarn to create the gorgeous jumper, cardigan and top pictured above!)

If you have something that fits the theme and are keen to show off your work as part of the Fibre Fest Exhibition, please drop the item(s) straight to TACC during opening hours (Tues-Thur 1-4pm) or email the Fibre Fest Coordindator Natalie via chair@theartscentrecootamundra.org.au (We may be able to arrange to pick up.)

Keep in mind, Fibre Fest isn’t until the 31st of May, so you still have time to make something for the Exhibition. Now is the time to get started on those projects you have been saying you will do ‘one day’. Collect your rags, scrap yarn / wool, search through your old clothes and unleash your creativity! We would need items to be at TACC by 12noon on Friday the 30th of May at the latest.

Community Art Project

This year we’re running a Community Art Project as part of Fibre Fest 2025. All attendees will have the opportunity to participate in the creation of a shaggy wall hanging - a throwback to the 70s where the best carpets were shag! We’re hoping by the end of the day to have a super colourful wall hanging that will be hung at The Arts Centre Cootamundra as a lasting monument to the creative people of Cootamundra and the wider area.

To ensure this project is a success, we’re asking for our local makers to donate any unwanted or leftover fibre products for use on the day. We’d love any donations of yarn, ribbon, roving or the like. You can drop your donations into The Arts Centre Cootamundra during opening hours (Tues-Thur 1-4pm) OR bring them with you on the day!

STALL HOLDERS
Want to be part of Fibre Fest 2025?

Small and large stall spaces are available. See the Market Stall Application form for details.
Completed forms must be returned by Wednesday the 15th of May.

If you have any questions about the Exhibition, Community Project or Market Stalls, please contact Natalie via chair@theartscentrecootamundra.org.au

PERFORMANCE: Darren Coggan - The Poems, Prayers & Promises of John Denver

Darren Coggan
”The Poems, Prayers & Promises of John Denver”

Sunday 27th of July at 3pm

Multi award winning performer, Darren Coggan, returns to his country roots with “The Poems, Prayers & Promises of John Denver”, delivering the vocal authenticity of one of the most passionate performers of all time.

Re-live the voice of a generation, in a celebration of one of the most inspiring and prolific singer songwriters of our time, remarkably re-created live, by Darren Coggan.

“Coggan has a fresh, powerful, expressive voice, and he just oozed style.”
THE AUSTRALIAN

“Coggan’s musical story-telling is outstanding, as is his singing and playing." SUNDAY HERALD SUN

TICKETS are available via TACC during office hours (1pm - 4pm Tues, Wed & Thurs). Cash or card.

Ash Grunwald
Feeling Better Tour

Thursday 27th March
Doors Open at 6pm

Renowned for his electrifying live shows, Ash Grunwald has inspired a generation to hit the road in an old van to ‘surf by day jam by night’. The festival favourite brings a high energy, vibrant live show with stacks of guitars and foot stomping blues.

Part troubadour, part storyteller - Ash has been selling out shows all over the country, don’t miss this one at The Arts Centre Cootamundra.

Throughout his career, he has supported legends James Brown, The Black Keys, Jack Johnson, Xavier Rudd, and Keith Urban, among numerous others, and played sold out festivals across Europe, Japan, and North America as-well as 10 invitations to Australia’s most renowned festival Bluesfest.

Ash released his first literary endeavour in 2019, Surf By Day, Jam By Night. Published by Pantera Press, the book embarks upon a journey to the depths of success, spirit, and soul. Featuring Kelly Slater, Stephanie Gilmore, Dave Rastavich, Pete Murray, Jack Johnson, among various eclectic others, the book Surf By Day, Jam By Night has sold over 10,000 copies in Australia alone.

To coincide with the release of Surf By Day, Jam By Night and explore the sentiment of storytelling even further, Grunwald launched the podcast ‘Soulful Conversations’ in February 2019. A collection of colourful conversations with musicians, surfers, and common folk, Ash’s special guests thus far include John Butler, Missy Higgins, Ziggy Alberts, The Cat Empire, Josh Teskey, Tom Carroll, among various others.

Colin Buchanan
Memory Town Album Tour

Saturday 1st of March 2025 at 7:30pm

Colin Buchanan takes songs from his 5 times Golden Guitar nominated album, MEMORY TOWN out for a series of intimate concerts across Australia. With 9 Golden Guitars, ARIA and APRA awards to his name, along with his Country Music Roll of Renown Induction, Colin brings his songs and storytelling to the people and places of the bush that have been his inspiration.

Moving, inspiring and at times hilarious, this is a unique opportunity to hear one of Australia’s most gifted singer/songwriters, intimate and acoustic.

Colin says, “I love that, with MEMORY TOWN, I get to sing my way through 30 years of memories as well as showcase some of my new songs. I’ve made so many friends over the decades and look forward to sharing lots of special musical moments together.”

MEMORY TOWN has already produced two national top 5 radio singles, “The Bush Comes Back” and “What I Love About Country”, as well as making Colin one of the top 2 most nominated artist at the 2025 Golden Guitar Awards, including a finals spot for the coveted Album of the Year.
