ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
A simple beginners class covering types of brushes, types of paper including how and when to stretch, colour including mixing, tonal values and techniques. Students do NOT need to know how to draw. This will be a very relaxed course and for everyone to enjoy themselves while they hopefully pick up some basic watercolour skills.
ABOUT NINA
I was born in the UK and emigrated with my parents to Australia in 1966. I have always had a passion for all things art and when I discovered that I could make my own at a very young age, there was no stopping me. After many years working and travelling, I have settled in the beautiful central western plains area of NSW. In 1997, I completed a Fine Arts course at TAFE which I completed with credits and distinctions. In 1998, I moved to WA, where I opened my own studio/gallery where I taught ceramics and painting in oils.
Since moving back east, I have ventured into various mediums including watercolour, mixed media and sculpture. I am an award winning artist having participated in many exhibitions and competitions throughout Australia including the Archibald and the Bald Archies. My artworks are represented in private collections throughout the UK, America and Australia. I am inspired by the effect of light and colour in the natural world. I love experimenting with watercolour, acrylics, oils, pastels and inks with a passion for portraits both human and animal forms. Art is therapy for me and I just simply enjoy creating.
