We are excited to announce that Chapter 2 of the “Parallels & Contrasts” Photography Exhibition will feature 8 talented local photographers! Returning for another year we have Sarah Hughes, Scott Kelleher and David James. They will be joined by Annabel Marley, Dale Harper, Grant Cross, Joe Cordoba, and Kev Schultz!

This Exhibition is an opportunity to see the world through their eyes. Whilst they each have a unique perspective, they clearly all have a dedication to the artistry of photography. We invite you to take the opportunity to view the Exhibition and experience the parallels and contrasts of the world around us!

Join us to celebrate the opening of this amazing exhibition! This is your opportunity to have a close look at the photography, meet the artists and socialise with a friendly group of people. BONUS - Trysta Willoughby will be performing! Cost of $10pp covers entry and snacks. The TACC Bar will be open to buy drinks.

ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHERS

David James
David is a local school teacher with an interest in photography.  Since being a teenager and having a strong connection to nature, a passion for landscape photography was started.  Being self-taught since his time at university, his style has evolved through the mediums of colour, black and white film to digital monochrome.  The use of black and white imagery allows stronger moods and interpretations to be expressed about local landscapes, nature and environments.

Grant Cross
Grant was born and raised in Cootamundra, picking up an interest in photography during high school, around the same time as the emergence of Freestyle Motocross. He then chased the sport as both an athlete, and a photographer and journalist for the next decade and a half, before pivoting into more automotive and documentary style photography in the wake of FMX's collapse from its peak. At this time he also returned to shooting film with classic manual cameras for a large part of the work.

Joseph Cordoba
Age: the better side of 60! I have 4 children and 5 grandchildren. I was born and raised in the Illawarra before making the move to Coota 10 years ago. I spent 35 years as an Industrial Protecive Coatings Specialist AKA industrial Spraypainter (lol) and now I spend my time fishing (salt water and fresh), scale model making and of course a bit of photography. 

Sarah Hughes - Bye Bye Blackbird Photography
Sarah Hughes began her photography journey at the young age of 7 when her photo-enthusiast father handed her his 1970s Practika 35mm film camera. From that moment her fascination with photography quickly grew. Sarah began working as the official field photographer for the Australian Macadamia Society in 2009 and established Bye Bye Blackbird Photography in Lismore NSW in 2013. In 2019 after 10 years working in the macadamia industry, Sarah went full time with her first Lismore based studio and in the same year achieved Northern Rivers Photographer of the Year. Her photographic journey has always been varied but successful, and after relocating to Cootamundra in 2022, Sarah opened the Bye Bye Blackbird Gallery in Parker Street as well as working as Programs Assistant for Eastern Riverina Arts. Her current project is the establishment of a Film Lab/Darkroom in the Parker Street Gallery. Sarah is an avid explorer and ultramarathon runner, and you will regularly see her running around town with her Kelpie George.

Scott Kelleher - Kranky Kactus Fotografia
Scotty, or Kactus Skot is an Australian documentary, editorial, conceptual, and portrait photographer based in Wiradjuri Country, Cootamundra. He is an active member of the Australian Association of Street Photographers(AASPi) and the Australian Photographic Society(APS). Passionate about chasing light, discovering and capturing the extraordinary in the ordinary.
