TACC Friendship Groups

What is a Friendship Group? It is a group of people who come together in a supportive, friendly environment to enjoy the arts in various forms. At TACC we have some amazing spaces designed with creatives in mind and we want these spaces to be accessible and user friendly - Friendship Groups are one way we are doing this.  These groups aren’t workshops, but the opportunity to unleash your creativity with a group of friendly locals with similar interests. Each group has 1 or 2 volunteer Facilitators who coordinate the session and is the main contact point for group members.

Current Friendship Groups

  • ART LARKS - Tuesdays from 10am (until approx. 1pm).
    Facilitator: Anne Steinke

  • AFTER HOURS ART - Wednesdays from 6pm (until approx. 9pm).
Facilitators: Natalie Cowled & Annabel Marley.

Don’t have the space at home to get creative? This may be the solution you are looking for. By joining one or both of these groups, you have the opportunity to work on your art projects with a friendly group of people in spaces specifically designed for creative arts.  The Visual Arts Studio can be used for 'messy' art (painting, sculpture, natural dyeing, etc) and the adjoining Meeting Room can be used for ‘less messy’ art (drawing, sewing, tapestry, knitting, scrap booking, etc). With a bit of notice, there is also the opportunity to use the Etching Press.  We only ask no noisy machines. Bring your own art projects and supplies, as well as snacks. Tea & coffee making facilities available. Cost is $5pp per session (Free for TACC Members).

  • AMATEUR DRAMA ENSEMBLE - Tuesdays from 6:30pm (until approx. 8pm).
    Facilitator: Mackenzie Bird.

Join this fun and relaxed adult drama group to enjoy some creative time - play readings, drama games and more. You are welcome to bring along performance pieces or to suggest dramatic activities – we are open to suggestions and are happy to work as a group to plan the session activities. This group is held in TACC's theatre space called the Tin Shed Theatre (TST) which has state-of-the-art lighting, sound system and a performance space of approximately 8m2. Bring your own snacks. Tea and coffee making facilities are available at TACC. Cost is $5pp per session (Free for TACC Members).

Keen to get involved? Fantastic! Please contact our Office Coordinator so he can put you in touch with the Facilitator of the group you are interested in. (See contact details below)

Create a New Friendship Group

If you are keen to start a group with a different focus (eg creative writing, photography, contemporary dance) you are invited to speak with our Office Coordinator to get the ball rolling! We are very keen to have as many groups as possible taking full advantage of our wonderful spaces. We will help you advertise the group and give you full instructions on how to access the building.
