About the workshop: Love needlecraft? Then here is a challenge. Incorporate various creative craft techniques into your fibre art – drawing, painting and needlework to create unique designs and patterns! Students will start with a doodle cloth where you will explore mark making with inks, paint and pencils. You will learn some simple and effective stitches and then complete (or get a good start) on a work on the second day, pulling some or all of these techniques together. This is all about exploring and having fun with a contemporary stitch sampler.
About the teacher: Carol Cooke is a Canberra based artist who uses textiles and sculpture to create 2D and 3D work. Textile is her preferred medium - sublimated by mixed media skills. Carol spent 2019 in Iceland undertaking an Icelandic Textile Centre Residency. She graduated from ANU with a Batchelor of Visual Arts as a Textile Major. Learn more online at cookeart.com
