MY BLACK DOG
Cootamundra Screening

Tuesday 27th May @ 7:30pm

Doors open at 7:10pm.

My Black Dog is a narrative film. It takes an honest and realistic look at the situations adolescents in regional centres are facing, speaking to them directly about what's going on and striving to develop a youth centric approach to tackling these issues.

The project provides a multi-generational take on mental health issues and their impacts. It has been co-designed with young people, for young people. A catalyst for conversation. Described as "Beautiful and heartfelt. Raw and powerful." by an audience member, the film expresses stories that are touching, honest and uplifting.

Utilising the abstraction of dance and performance to express the more visceral aspects of struggling with a mental illness, My Black Dog demonstrates the different points of connection and support that can be created or exist around a young person.

My Black Dog features the young artists of FLING Company 2023, professional performers from the Bega Valley region and a phenomenal Creative Team, including Cinematographer Andrew Robinson Film and Composer David Hewitt.
