Professional Development Workshop

Saturday 10th December from 9:30am to 11:30am

We at TACC are very excited to be hosting FLING Physical Theatre for a Professional Development workshop this December. FLING is facilitating a fantastic project for young people in Cootamundra to explore and express their creativity while developing skills in creative thinking, problem solving and teamwork.
While Fling are here they will be hosting a CREATIVE VOICE Professional Development Workshop
This workshop is for primary and secondary school teachers, dance teachers, theatre makers and drama lovers.
In this professional development workshop you will learn techniques to help you introduce and teach performance skills to young people.
You will learn
how to communicate a performance idea to young people.
how to engage young people in the process of story development.
how to use your body in interesting ways to tell a story.
best practice for working with young people during performance development.
In this workshop you will be encouraged to discuss your ideas and ask questions. You will also enjoy the opportunity to move your body as we develop and practice new skills.
The workshop, and the entire project, will be facilitated by Gabrielle Rose, Co-Artistic Director of FLING Physical Theatre based in the Bega Valley.
About Gabrielle: “Gabrielle is the current Co Artistic Director of FLING Physical Theatre with Rob McCredie and has been with FLING since 2013. Highlights include My Black Dog directed by Kate Denborough and winner of the 2019 WayAhead Mental Health Matters Award, directing HOME in 2016 and recently Everything is Coming Up Roses 2020.
Gabrielle holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Performance Creation (Choreography) from the Victorian College of the Arts, a Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Education (Dance and Theatre Studies) from the University of New South Wales and was a participant in the Solo Performance Residency at Victoria University. In Australia, UK and Europe Gabrielle has presented her own choreographic work, facilitated learning and making processes, performed, and produced events that served as a platform for other artists. Gabrielle’s practice is influenced by artists she has trained and collaborated with including Rob McCredie, Kate Denborough, Rosalind Crisp, Andrew Morrish, Caroline Bowditch, Gunilla Heilborn, Helen Herbertson, Wendy Houston, Jess Devereux, and Samara Hersch. Gabrielle was the 2007 recipient of the Wilma Firth Award for outstanding achievement in Dance Education.”
