Participants will be introduced to a sculptural experience utilizing wire, plaster and creative construction. Students will be led through the steps of creating a 3D work which they will take home at the end of the workshop. Depending on the weather it is hoped the workshop will include a walk and talk through the Australian Cricket Captain’s Walk at Jubilee Park in Cootamundra with Wendy explaining the process that she follows to produce an accurate portrayal of the model she is working from.

Wendy Black is the artist responsible for 4 busts in the Captains Walk (Shane Watson, Ricky Ponting, Kim Hughes, Percy McDonnell). Her works are widely exhibited and she has won the Tom Bass Figurative Sculpture Prize 3 times. Wendy is currently curating the Hunter Valley ‘Sculpture in the Vineyards 2021’.
