with Russell Kilbey
This workshop has been postponed.
As Russell lives in Sydney, it has been decided to postpone this workshop to later in the year. The actual date has not been set as yet. If you would like to get involved in this workshop, please register your interest by emailing info@theartscentrecootamundra.org.au
All skill levels welcome
About the workshop: Anyone can become a documentary filmmaker - You just need an idea, a recording device and some editing skills. This workshop will introduce you to the basics of creating a documentary from concept development through to directing and recording using your smartphone or video camera. What is a documentary? It is simply a film that captures or records reality – past or present. For instance, you could interview a family member, record the details of an important event, capture a behind the scenes snapshot of your business or explore a fascinating topic.
Russell Kilbey is an award winning musician and photographer whose music and sound design has been used in TV commercials, documentaries and feature films. He has taught film making for TAFE NSW and developed one of the world’s first courses on blogging and podcasting at Insearch / UTS. He has directed, filmed and edited several documentaries including The Man from Coxs River (2014) which won a National Trust Heritage award. Russell has a Masters in Media Arts & Production from UTS.
